Abstract: This research investigates the significance of peer interactions in shaping social development outcomes during early childhood in Nigeria. The objectives are to explore how peer relationships influence social skills acquisition, emotional regulation, and conflict resolution abilities among young children. Employing a qualitative survey research design, this study justifies its approach by gathering in-depth perspectives from educators, psychologists, and parents through interviews and focus groups. A purposive sample size of 200 participants is selected to include diverse socio-economic backgrounds and geographic regions, ensuring comprehensive insights into peer dynamics. Rivers State is chosen as the case study location, given its cultural diversity and educational initiatives focused on social-emotional learning. The reliability coefficient score will validate qualitative data analysis, ensuring rigor and trustworthiness. Findings are expected to inform educational practices and interventions that promote positive peer interactions and social development outcomes in early childhood education settings nationwide.
